Former NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Enters Not Guilty Plea in Attempted Murder Case

Ex- NFL player Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to face an attempted murder charge related to a shooting that occurred in May, with his lawyer filing a not guilty response on his behalf.

Correctional logs in Essex, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was discharged on Tuesday morning for his move to the state of Florida. Brown, among the most famous players in the National Football League, had waived transfer to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being taken into custody in Dubai.

Brown’s counsel, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an communication that he has earlier lodged a documented innocent declaration to the attempted murder allegation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as early as Wednesday early for a bond hearing, Eiglarsh said.

According to his apprehension order, Brown is accused of seizing a firearm from a protection employee after a public figure fighting contest in May and shooting two bullets at a individual he had clashed with previously. The alleged individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to investigators that one of the bullets touched his throat.

Eiglarsh asserted that Brown was simply protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was obliged to take were exclusively in defense against the alleged victim’s aggressive actions. Brown was targeted that night and responded within his lawful entitlement to defend himself,” Eiglarsh said.

Brown was not promptly detained because initially authorities did not identify Nantambu as a affected party. It not until subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a full testimony about the incident to officers and pointed out Brown as the shooter, the report states.

From his online updates, Brown had been living in the city of Dubai for a number of months. In a update after the incident, Brown stated he was defending himself because he was “attacked by several persons who tried to rob my jewelry and bring personal damage to me.”

A category two murder attempt accusation in the state of Florida imposes a maximum 15-year incarceration sentence and up to a $10,000 penalty in the case of a conviction.

Brown has faced several judicial issues over the time. He earlier had been alleged of battery of a vehicle operator, various abuse accusations, failure to pay child support and further events.

During a 2021 season contest with the Buccaneers against the opponents, Brown stripped off his uniform, shoulder pads and gloves and left the arena, resulting in his termination by the Buccaneers and effectively concluding his professional career.

Brown, who spent a dozen years in the NFL, was an top-tier player who passed the majority of his career with Pittsburgh. For his professional life, Brown had over 900 catches for above 12,291 distance, the 28th highest of all time. He was a 7-time Pro Bowl pick.
